Help Me Build Credit Now Announces New Website and Forum
Congress gave Credit Bureaus tremendous power over consumers when the Fair Credit Reporting Act was passed. Without any hard evidence, or input from the accused, a person can be deemed unworthy of credit, which may prevent someone from getting a job.

JACKSONVILLE, FL, July 08, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Help Me Build Credit Now proudly announces the launch of their new website and forum. The website http://HelpMeBuildCreditNow.Com is dedicated to helping individuals repair and rebuild their credit.

Over the years, Congress has passed several laws to protect consumers. The most recognized is the Fair Credit Reporting Act. The purpose of this Act is to assure "accuracy and fairness of credit reporting." Consumer Reporting Agencies were given the task of assembling and evaluating consumer credit and other information on consumers. This is to be done with "fairness, impartiality and respect for the consumer's right to privacy."

Each year credit bureaus, creditors and collection companies are sued because of errors found on credit reports. While winning a lawsuit may be satisfying, the derogatory information remains on a person's credit report throughout the proceedings. With the downturn of the economy, many consumers have lost job opportunities based solely on what is on their credit report. Is this what Congress had in mind when they passed the Fair Credit Reporting Act?

The initial forum thread deals with the topic "why are the penalties for consumers harsher than those of criminals?" A criminal is considered "innocent until proven guilty" however a credit consumer is deemed guilty without one shred of evidence or any input whatsoever from the "accused." Derogatory information will stay on a person's record for 7 to 10 years but the sentence for a convicted felon for tax evasion is a maximum of 5 years.

The forum is actively seeking individuals that have had their lives significantly altered by derogatory information found on their credit report. It is also an outlet for individuals who would like to share their experience and/or share tips for disputing derogatory information found on their credit reports.
